For my repurposing project, I took my original research paper, which included a factual account of my grandfather's journey to America, and transformed it into a fictional short story. I kept features from my grandfather's own story, specifically those related to his direct experiences during World War II,  as the core for the piece.  This article was intended  to appear as the one fictional short story that the New Yorker features each week.  The final version this assignment can be found by clicking the link below.
